Life at a Call Center 2: What if she were your Mom? Ever since my column entitled, “Life at a Call Center,” came out in Panorama Magazine, I have been getting heartwrenching e-mails from call center agents. Their response only underscores the need for the Department of Labor and Employment to set up a special unit dedicated to promoting safety and health standards in the BPO industry and setting up voluntary arbitration mechanisms specifically for the industry. One of the featured New York Time's opinion blogs is Nicholas D. Kristof's: "On the Ground". They give the description as: "Kristof, a Pulitzer Prize-winning Op-Ed columnist, posts about his travels around the world." Well, thats not all he does on his blog, not by a long shot!
