Habermas writes a chapter on “Emotional Doubt” in which he lays out C. S. Lewis’ opinion on the subject. According to Habermas: Lewis begins by treating the false but common view that faith need not (or even should not) be grounded in evidence… Lewis clearly and frequently repeats the claim that emotions are the biggest culprit here.
